Hosted by Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue

Event date: Thurs 14th to Sat 16th Sept 2023

Venue: Various locations within Lincolnshire County

If this is your first Challenge you are in for a wonderful experience. Here are our top tips for a successful event.

1. Familiarise with the event programme

Read the event programme for your challenge which you can find in the event programme page which sets out all the rules for your event including what kit you need to bring with you.

2. Register your organisation with UKRO

Before registering for your event you will need to make sure that UKRO are set up as a supplier to your Service. The appropriate form should be sent to ggoodman@ukro.org. Once we are set up as a supplier you can raise a purchase order which you will need to send to us (or insert at registration) so we can invoice your Service.

3. Register your team with UKRO

Go to the Challenge registration site and read the instructions for registration.  Register for your event. Registration is open from 1 May until 16 June and entries are on a first come first served basis.

Places are limited so do not delay registering!

4. Book your accommodation

Book your accommodation, a selection of which can be found in the accommodation page. See where the venues are so you can choose the accommodation and car parking which is most convenient for you.

5. Opening ceremony

You need to arrive on the afternoon of Thurs 14th Sept 2023 (you will need to register prior to your attendance). Your team captain will need to attend the Captains’ Briefing at 6pm at the Engine Shed.

Service dress is required for the Opening Ceremony which starts at 7.00pm at The Engine Shed. With a finishing time of around 8.30pm we recommend that you eat before the event.

6. Health & Safety

Read the health & safety briefing for your event here.

7. Follow the timetable

Make sure that you have your event timetable to hand so you know where to be at the right time for your event and workshop.

For the Extrication and Trauma Challenges you will need to report to registration points. We encourage you to make the most of the opportunities by watching other teams compete and visiting the sponsors and trade areas.

Remember that any workshops connected with your event are compulsory.

8. Parking information

Both overnight secure parking and day parking will be available at the main Challenge site for your minibuses / cars (see the venues page). Alternative arrangements will be available for the Water Challenge.

9. Food & drink

You will be able to buy food and drink at the main Challenge venue (alternative arrangements will be available for the Water Challenge).

10. Closing ceremony

All events should be completed by 5pm on the Sat 16th September 2023. We recommend that you eat before the Closing Ceremony (wear Service dress) which will start at 7.30pm and last until 9.30pm. This is where the awards are presented. Your team’s results will be emailed to you after the event.

11. Goodbyes

Depart after breakfast on the Sunday. We appreciate that some may have to return to their Service on the Saturday for operational reasons.

12. Help us improve future challenge events

Provide us with your feedback on your experience.
