What is the goal of the extrication challenge?

The goal of the extrication challenge, is allow teams to develop skills and practices that they can take back to each Fire and Rescue Service to enhance the techniques by operational crews on a day-to-day basis saving lives and reducing injuries on the UK’s Roads.

The challenge runs over two days, and every team has one scenario to deal with on each day, of varying skill and complexity.


What are the scoring criteria of this challenge?

The scoring criteria is based on a number of skills within the team from Team Leadership, Technical Ability, Communication and Medical skills in dealing with an incident and getting the casualty to a place of safety.
